Wireless power transfer (WPT) is one of the most developing fields nowadays, because the technology can provide us and our devices a mobility that has never seen before. It can also diminish the problem of energy storage and promote the usage of electric vehicles. By the so-called energy harvesting we can feed sensor networks and build the internet of things (IoT) in a wireless manner.

Therefore it is crucial that electrical engineering students know the basics of this technology and be aware of its limitations. Since WPT is associated with microwave engineering as well as with power engineering, the lectures are shared by the two corresponding departments. In addition to the lectures on theory, WPT is demonstrated on tunable breadboard-circuits developed by the lab of the Department.
